ActiveBase Security software provides an automated data security solution for securing sensitive and personal data stored in production and non-production systems.

It enables transparent column encryption, masking or scrambling IN-MOTION, without recoding applications or touching databases!
ActiveBase is built on a unique in-line SQL*Net proxy server software technology, configured to route only selected group of clients or applications to all databases.
It intercepts and analyzes incoming SQL statement requests, selectively applying security rules on selected columns or blocking offensive requests in real-time before reaching the database servers.

Powerful routing rules enable to determine which clients and application requests will pass through ActiveBase server, and which applications will bypass ActiveBase server to reconnect directly to the databases.
Powerful security rules are applied on application requests in real-time ON-MOTION, before reaching the databases. Rules apply SQL rewrite actions such as:
1. Mask Social Security Numbers column result set retrieved in specific Siebel production forms
2. Add decrypt function on a select list encrypted column
3. Add encrypt function on application SQL insert and update requests
4. Block SQL request that retrieve Social Security Numbers in production, while returning a message to the user accordingly
5. Scramble salary column on all developer requests to retrieve salary information in pre-production HR database

By not touching the application code or the original data, the integrity of database relationships is preserved, enabling users work through the interface screens while sustaining business validity.

Auditing, blocking, encryption/decryption and scrambling rules are propagated across applications, development tools and environments to simplify standardization and compliance for production and non-production environments.

ActiveBase Security supports all Oracle based applications, proprietary or packaged application such as PeopleSoft, Siebel and Oracle Apps, or Business Intelligence implementations and reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos or Crystal Reports.

Installation
Installing ActiveBase products is easy and usually completed in less than a day, because ActiveBase Priority is instaled on the database server. No changes are required to either applications or databases. We support any application running on Oracle versions 8.0 and higher on all major platforms.
